The Hippocampus Ring

Lapis Lazuli was cherished for thousands of years in ancient Egypt, where it was believed to guide the soul into immortality and allow the hearts to find love. Besides its spiritual benefits, Lapis Lazuli strengthens the immune system, lowers the blood pressure, purifies the blood, and reduces any inflammation in the body. The stone can also develop your sense of clarity, integrity, and intuition.

In order to be effective Lapis Lazuli is suggested to be contacted with skin. The craftsmanship of the ring is carefully designed in-line with the gemstone’s properties as the back of the ring is completely open allowing the gemstone to contact the wearer.

The intaglio depiction of the gem is of a Hippocampus. We feel that the rings' genuine ancient beauty is the result of Ece London's meticulous hand carvings of each piece (entirely from wax), which ends up in a unique item. Every design has an individual backstory. This ring is hand sculpted and completed by craftsmen in the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul, Turkey.

At Ece London, we are excited to offer a unique opportunity to personalize our open-back designs with custom intaglio engravings. Our open-back designs are crafted to allow the gemstone's properties to connect directly with the wearer, and we are now using this special space for customized engravings, making each piece even more personal and meaningful.

After your engraving request is submitted, our artisans will hand-engrave the back of the design and finish it with the same gold leaf used in the original piece, ensuring it blends seamlessly with the design.

Each intaglio is carefully hand-engraved by our skilled artisans, please allow an additional 1 business day for the customization process to be completed.

Due to the personalized nature of the custom engravings, all customized products are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. We take great care to ensure each engraving is perfect, creating a special way to celebrate the uniqueness of our designs.

For more elaborate customizations, such as mythical creatures or symbols featured in our existing designs, we offer the option to have these intaglios engraved on the front of the design. Please contact us directly to create a custom order for these unique requests.
