A tribute to the divine bee priestesses of the ancient world, the Melissae Ring is a talisman of sacred femininity and lunar energy. At its heart lies a glowing moonstone,  with hand-engraved, intaglio, of a bee — a symbol of intuition, fertility, and the quiet power of community. Surrounded by hammered 925k sterling silver body on 22k gold vermeil and finished with a touch of gold leaf on intaglio.

In ancient Greek myth, the Melissae were the oracular priestesses of Delphi, known for their prophetic wisdom and spiritual connection to the divine. The bee, their sacred emblem, was believed to traverse between worlds, carrying messages from the gods. Paired with the ethereal moonstone — a gem of dreams, protection, and the feminine cycle — this necklace channels the energy of both goddess and guardian.

This design features an open-back gemstone setting for full connection with the stone’s natural properties, and can be personalized with a custom engraving. To add your own inscription, please select the ‘Custom Engraving’ option before adding to chart.

The intaglio depiction of the gem is of a . We feel that the rings' genuine ancient beauty is the result of Ece London's meticulous hand carvings of each piece (entirely from wax), which ends up in a unique item. Every design has an individual backstory. This ring is hand sculpted and completed by craftsmen in the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul, Turkey.

Our open-back designs are crafted to allow the gemstone's properties to connect directly with the wearer, and we are now using this special space for customized engravings, making each piece even more personal and meaningful.

After your engraving request is submitted, our artisans will hand-engrave the back of the design and finish it with the same gold leaf used in the original piece, ensuring it blends seamlessly with the design.

Each intaglio is carefully hand-engraved by our skilled artisans, please allow an additional 1 business day for the customization process to be completed.

Due to the personalized nature of the custom engravings, all customized products are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. We take great care to ensure each engraving is perfect, creating a special way to celebrate the uniqueness of our designs.
